Mar 19, 2010 - incorrect, it might not be useful for you but it might be needed for the system, its like going into the control panel in windows. and deleting system32 because you already have a folder named system therefore you think its useless and delete it. either way. i've customized every part of my Ubuntu, Slackware and Gentoo System. from the bootscreen to the logo Gimp shows when loading :).

The only upside of Explorer which I do find to be useful is the Windows 7 addition of libraries (which I primarily use to monitor the file locations across multiple partitions) . That said, if one doesn't like Nautilus they can always decide to use a file manager from a different desktop environment (e.g. Dolphin or Konqueror from KDE).
