May 31, 2010 - It's really too bad they had Stalin as a leader during WW2. Fortunately they had an extremely hard working civilian population, a devoted and heroic military, and some genius military commanders. Like Hitler, Stalin did nothing but hinder his own nation's defense. His purging of much of the officer core in the 30's robbed the military of critical leadership and experience that could have been used to better defend against Germany early in the war. Awesome national anthem.
