Just freeair testing the sub after repairs before putting it back in it's enclosure. If you look at where the speaker terminals are, you'll see the phillips head screws that hold the tinsel terminations to the wire terminations. If you have any problems with these Type-R subs cutting out on you, or are seeing varible impedence in a DC resistance test, pop off the cover, tighten those biatches down! I have not had a problem since! The noise from the sub is motor and mechanical noise. I was pushing it's limits. This woofer is seeing around 500 or so WRMS here in this video at the higher frequencies. Much less at the lower frequency where the sub is getting it's peak excursion. I'll give it the benefit of the doubt and safely say 700-750 watts to cook the coil on this brand spankin new woofer. Before you comment on how your feeding it 1000+ watts RMS with a video response, clamp it and see. I had a coil open up on me, so I tore it down and found out the tinsel lead terminal came loose from the push in input terminations. I thought it was a broken tinsel lead from bending back and forth so many times. Turns out I didn't even have to rip the woofer apart to fix it, but at least you all can see the internals of a 1222D 12'' Type-R subwoofer. It's VERY rigid and strong!
